2013

Can’t believe I found this one in the archive, but it all started with Cleo.

The digital files for 2013 and 2014 are lost to time, but this is a photo of the final product.

2014

In 2014, we went from just a cat to a cat meme — riding on the LOLcat meme.

2015

2015 was a continuation of cat memes — starring Cleo.

But, we did add photos of ourselves:

2016

2016 we turned everyone into cats. This is still one of my favorites.

2017

In 2017, we started this site. We had a traditional looking front — thanks to Karl’s wedding — and did something fun for the back. (Note the re-use of the cat family.) This was the first QR Code.

2018

2018 — yeah, I made the Christmas Card look like Instagram UI.

2019

2019 was the Succession year, so photoshopped us all as cast members to Succession.

I sprung to get the Succession typeface and the final product had fancy foil because Succession was a fancy television show:

2020

2020 was the pandemic year, so we did the reasonable thing, and did a Zoom meeting of the family — with a special guest.

2021

. . . I don’t think we did a card in 2021. Or, if we did, it was probably just Mirabelle — who would have been all of 5 weeks old when Christmas came around.

2022

For 2022, we had an illustrator recapture the family — adding Cleo to the picture.

2023

2023 was a last minute card — with a photoshopped screen from Mirabelle’s second birthday party.

2024

And, in 2024, we went with illustrated portrait again — this is a composite of two different photos:

It was either this option, or go with what the DALL-E AI said we should look like —

(This was almost our card this year. I think the illustrator we paid did a better job than the AI.)
